walsall football club

Since the two most prominent clubs in Walsall, Walsall Town and Walsall Swifts, united to form Walsall Town Swifts in 1888, the Saddlers have had a long and illustrious history.

Since turning into Walsall in 1895, there have been many highs and lows, all of which combine to create the Saddlers vibrant history.

The moniker "The Saddlers" for the club alludes to Walsall's history with the leather industry as a hub for saddle production. Walsall played for nearly a century in the neighbouring Fellows Park before relocating to their own Bescot Stadium in 1990. The squad wears a red and white uniform, and a swift is featured on the club crest. They have rivalries with Shrewsbury Town and Port Vale, which are farther away but more frequently contested, and with Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion, who are very nearby.
